Woven song circle's feminine seasonal gatherings promote singing for well-being & self-care. WINTER WEAVINGS... First let's ponder... What teachings does the season of winter offer us? Eastern philosophies offer interesting insight into how best to support good health throughout ~ WINTER: ELEMENT: Water (our ability to flow & adapt) EMOTION: Fear (our need to manage anxiety and cultivate TRUST) ORGANS: Kidney & Urinary bladder (warm feet & hot drinks) VOICE: Moans & groans (vocal expression of uncomfortable emotions) Like bears many people like to hibernate through Winter as it is yin energy (more internal), but it can be isolating and can leave us feeling unsupported and unconnected to community. The Winter weaving program will allow a safe space to explore the external changes and internal shifts that occur at this time of year across three sessions. We will learn to open and activate the voice as a tool to massage the vagus nerve to calm the nervous system, invite gentle movement and expand self-expression through vocal sound. Woven monthly gatherings allow for continued connection to your feminine tribe who are journeying with you through the decent of Winter. This community of women come together to drink tea, sing, learn, support and uplift each other through the seasons of life. Together we take the time and make space for self-nourishment and care to support our health and well-being. The qualities of Winter are explored through a range of vocal experiences, improvisations and chosen songs. The group members will vote on the song selection! Winter's song list currently includes: 'Landslide' by Fleetwood Mac 'California Dreaming' by The Mamas and The Papas 'Running up that hill' by First Aid Kit (original by Kate Bush) Join us for the season of WINTER (19/06, 17/07, 21/08), we would love you to be with us!
